I joined a network with the help of my son who is in Facebook all the time. I was amazed at how easy it was to him and how fast he clicked the keys. Of the ones we looked at, I actually like Facebook the best. This site is blocked by our firewall at work so I would not find it to be helpful at work. It was fun to go in and read about different options and I enjoyed communicating with my son. We poked each other and I learned some new lingo. I was amazed at how many of his friends were in the network.
If you want to meet friends and socialize, I'd say that Facebook is your best bet.
